I am an AA EXP, flying DFW-NRT on AA in J and then NRT-BKK on JL in coach. For some reason, I am unable to pick a seat and a meal online. I called JL, they gave me a my JL record locator and he told me that I cannot pick exit row seats unless I am at the airport.

Is that true?

Also, how do I know which configuration 747 I am flying? I asked and he said K61, but there is no K 61 on the web.
