Interesting...when I traveled on a ticket AZO-DTW-SEA-HNL-GUAM-CAIRNS and return in Jan. 2001, I was welcomed into both NWA and CO clubs along the way. This was a Business Class ticket "purchased" exclusively with miles. However when I flew to Moscow last September on an expensive economy ticket, using miles to upgrade to Business, I was not allowed into the NWA/KLM Clubs in either DTW or AMS. I was told that it was because "upgraded" tickets didn't count. Of course I got nowhere trying to tell them about the Australia experience. Do any of you hard core NWA people know if there are published rules on this. (I was a NWA "Gold" for OZ, Platinum for Russia if that matters.) I'm flying to Budapest in July on a Business Ticket, again purchased with miles. Given the heafty 160,000 it took to "Rule Bust", I will be more than cranky if they won't let me in the Club again.
