Sheraton Pleasanton Hotel report 1/2007
Preface: I need to be in Hollister tomorrow morning for a breakfast meeting. I thought I would get my first 2007 stay in.
Status: Still a Platinum.
Rate: In mid $70s.
Transportation: I drove in. A quick drive coming from the Valley.
Parking: Free parking. There was a shuttle outside. Have no idea where it goes.
Check-in: The agent was pleasant but very busy. Asked for any type of bedded room. Given room on 6.
Perks: Amenity and access to the Club lounge.
Lounge: I went over to the Club and it was a surprise. Nothing out. Later I would find that I am the only person on 6. I spoke with the F&B manager and he was very cordial offering to send up any items I would like. He also offered to have the Club cleaned up and stocked for the evening presentation. I told him if I am the only one it was ok. Not to waste. The platter I received contained mixed hot items, soft drinks, light beers and dessert. I nice spread considering my friend wants to go out for dinner. Yikes. The Club has a computer and printer.
Room: A nice comfortable room. You enter onto carpet. To the right is a small closet followed by a table which has a flat screen LG tv. This is followed by a desk with mesh chair. I have a window facing the shopping center. You have a nice comfy chair and ottoman with side table. The bed looks comfortable.
Bathroom: A standard single basin bathroom with push out shower curtain. The whole room is cozy and warm.
Internet: Wayport for $9.95 24 hours.
Gym: Six machines, weights and bench. Bottled water and towels. On 1st floor. That means I made it there.
Spa: I think probably not.
Eating venues: Did not try.
Local markets: Lots of stuff around here.
Local area: Same.
Negatives: I am pleased with the Hotel. The Club could have been up to par but they made up for it. You can not blame them for not wanting to waste items.
Closing: I would stay again. A great bargain.
