To be balloted with recommendation for action from the union.

Jan. 12 -- A meeting of GMB Shop Stewards, who
represent thousands of GMB members working for British
Airways, today reached a unanimous decision to reject the
pensions offer from the company tabled last Friday (5th
January 2007). GMB will now move to a consultative ballot
that will recommend that members reject BA's final offer
and recommend that members vote yes for industrial action.
The ballot will begin on Wednesday 17th January 2007 and
run for two and half weeks.

Ed Blissett, GMB National Officer responsible for looking
after GMB members working at British Airways said, ``GMB is
extremely angry and disappointed that the lowest paid
workers, our members, in BA are being disadvantaged in this
final offer on pensions in comparison to the highest paid,
the pilots. GMB Shop Stewards were unanimous in
recommending that the offer should be rejected by the
member. The lowest paid cannot be expected to voluntarily
bear the largest burden of the cuts.''
