BTW, for an overnight near the airport in a decent, but not outrageously expensive not lavish hotel, I recommend the Tahiti Country Club in Faaa. Just uphill from the airport, clean, a pool, reasonable food... The Sheraton is OK, of course, but can be pricey if one is only transiting through PPT.

And Bora Bora is nice, but there are 1) other islands, and 2) Moorea is a quick ferry ride away and also has some splendid beaches, diving, mountains etc.
