Good grief -- this seems ridiculous to me. If the OP is able to discuss and clear security questions with SPG's phone line and make an attempt to explain his no ID predicament, I am dumbfounded that he's being given this much hassle.
As most of you know, a person does NOT(!!!) need a photo ID to fly domestically. Yes, you'll catch grief for it and yes you'll go through secondary screening (and more), but you'll still get on the plane, for heaven's sake.
Not sure why the hotel is taking such a strong stance with a known, loyal customer.
