Good point, but as a sub £100 ticket is likely to be domestic or at least shorthaul/weekend break territitory, and I would be unlikley to check bags, any delay is not likley to result in serious compensation on that front, and certainly I would still be adequately covered by Plat.
An interesting discussion, though. Seems we all value miles differently.
