Have I mssed something, but the change fee is for stopovers (usually LHR). This is to mildly discourage those who fly from doing EU-LHR(Looooong Stopover)-Destination.

However you can leverage this by departing EU in low season, pay 200 euros for LHR stopover, then continue on your holiday in peak season -- saving a packet!
