Hey everyone-
I'm going to Thailand in April and flying SQ on the outbound--and this will be my first time on SQ (an experience I've long awaited!). Currently I'm booked in Raffles class on SQ37 LAX-SIN, and even though we arrive early AM in SIN, I scheduled my onward flight to BKK (also in Biz) in the late afternoon so that I can have a chance to spend the day seeing Singapore. I've been really excited about getting a seat in C on the nonstop LAX-SIN flight, but there is now another option and I feel conflicted, so I ask for your opinions on this...
By April, as I'm sure many of you know, SQ15 (SFO-ICN-SIN) will be operating using the new 77W. I found out that there is availability if I wanted to change my outbound to fly LAX-SFO-ICN-SIN, which would allow me to experience the much talked about new business class. The downside would be taking 3 flights instead of 1 to SIN, arriving in SIN at 1AM (and thus not being able to connect to BKK until morning), and I don't know how keen they would be about me "crashing" in the SQ lounge from 1AM until morning waiting for my connecting flight to BKK. They could put me on a flight from ICN directly to BKK, but it would be on TG and it would arrive at midnight. Either way, as you can see it would be a lot more of a hassle and inconvenient schedule-wise, but from all the buzz on here about the new 77W, it makes me wonder if it's worth the trouble to experience the new product.
Is the excitement coming more from SQ regulars who are looking for something new to try on SQ, or is it a general sentiment that the biz class on the 77W is so outstanding that if given the choice, you would choose the LAX-SFO-ICN-SIN over the nonstop LAX-SIN no matter what? Knowing what you know now, if you were going to fly SQ for the first time, which itin would you pick? How should I first experience SQ???
Looking forward to the replies!
