NW has CFM engines on the busses. The noise you hear is most prominant in the fed part of the plane and is just the sound of the engines at high thrust settings, as you can tell, it decreases as the thrust decreases. If you listen to any large jet take off, they all have that grinding buzz sound. Each engine has a distict sound. The 319s and 320s have the same engines.
