No such thing as E+ on Lufthansa. You're in their narrow-pitch coach wherever you sit. A lot of people detest LH coach for having much less room than other airlines even for the same alleged pitch. I've only flown them transatlantic on a 340-600 which I didn't mind at all. But I'm only 5'9. Also the 340-600 coach seats have neat little bookholders, cupholders/eyeglass holders up above the tray table level, so even though there's not a lot of room, you can get organized. I think the 747 and the older non-600 model 340's don't have all the cool organizer gadgets of the 340-600. If you're interested you could go to airliners.net and do a photo search for cabin views of Lufthansa 747's. Also check seatguru but I think all the economy seats are about the same.

In the past, when I was ticketed by United on a LH-operated flight as a UA codeshare, United was able to assign me seats. See if you can get into an aisle in Lufthansa if you're not already on it. Again, this will only work transatlantic, they don't assign seats in advance for intra-europe flights.

The seats I listed earlier are all aisles on your UA902 IAD-MUC flight that were open as of when I posted.

Sorry, can't gift you status. As a 1P I don't automatically get that ability although I did get one chance last summer when I hit 40,000 EQM and another last month when I hit 75,000 EQM. I gave them to my wife and my daughter. You're gonna hate me - they're only 5'3 and 5'2 respectively!
