If they don't have to go thru Ag, well, does it really matter where you buy them? You can get them for good prices at the farmer's markets.

I often buy stuff and ship it home, though I personally can't stand pineapples, so I've never even tried.

I have found a way to smuggle papayas home for far less than it costs to buy them at the airport... what a racket they have. They charge a fortune for a few pieces of fruit because they've been inspected and/or irradiated.
