What's your understanding of Marriott's use of "stays" and "nights"
A night corresponds to one "day" or night of a stay. A stay is any number of consecutive nights stayed at a particular property.
For purposes of Gold elite status, you would need 50 nights. These nights could be from as few as one stay of 50 nights total, or as many as 50 stays each of 1 night.
There are different versions of the Megabonus. Some of them are based on "stays" and others are based on "nights". It seems you have a version that is based on number of stays rather than number of nights.
