Yes - the airline provided us with a hotel for the night so they did meet article 9 which relates to "care".

FWIW, the Swedish body responsible for enforcement of the EC Regulation is as follows:

My problem is that the general consensus is that the enforcing bodies are pretty useless and it seems that people who have one the right even to the basic 250 EUR per pax have had to go through a small claims court process.

Personally I have to admit that we would be pretty happy just to get the 250 EUR as at least that with the Amex insurance will go some way in paying for our replacement tickets on SK.
