I don't get this discrimination against these routes.
Seeing that LH enjoys a quasi-monopoly on these routes, it makes a lot of sense for LH to use their old planes on routes where most pax perceive there is no real alternative to LH. I completely agree with you that this is not acceptable - which is why I'll fly BA to BOM in Feb, saving at least 25% of the ticket price in the process - and they kindly put me in F (A) on the inbound!
