Hilton will reject points credit if the name on the AMEX account does not match the name on the HHonors account. I am in the middle of this fight now. I have 50k points in my HHonors account and 95k points that AMEX cannot credit to it because the AMEX account has my wife's name listed first. It is a joint account and I have a card. Same drill if it is an account under your wife's name and you are just an authorized user.

I've had 2 calls + 4 emails to HHonors and 1 call + 3 emails to AMEX. I actually got better service using AMEX's built-in web email. In any case, the final solution that hopefully will work (I'll report back in a few days) is for me to create a NEW HHonors account in my wife's name, tell AMEX to credit points to this new account, then combine the account using the combine feature on HHonors web site.

I keep my original account as "primary" and any points credited to my wife's account that I created just to allow AMEX credit to work *should* automatically be credited to the primary account moving forward.

Hilton is supposed to combine all existing points and allow credit to both account #'s moving forward.

We shall see... I still have my doubts. If I can't get my 95k points from AMEX transfered into my account I will switch loyalty immediately (and no, I don't want to pay for that privelege using the "transfer" option).
