I read that Bill Gates bought a Boeing plane, perhaps a 737, for $60 million. He doesn't own a Gulfstream.

Available miles may not be the best measure. Lifetime miles may be better. For example, in my case, I have something like 5-6 million lifetime miles earned on all airlines (mostly Delta), but only about 1 million sitting unused at the moment.
