The only shot you would have is to void the ticket IF you had it booked through a travel agent AND the $260 fare would still be available for 1-2 pax.

There are moments when travel agents (good ones) come in handy, but I suspect you booked via aa.com and there is nothing you can do.

Well, there is one thing.. sign up for fare compare RSS for LAX-DFW on AA and if the fare drops by more than $100+ then you can have AA reissue your ticket at the lower cost minus a $100 change fee, per ticket.
