This is one of the reasons that when I am going to Orlando during a busy time, the family usually stays in one of the Universal on-site hotels. This is an area that Universal is head and shoulders better than Disney. I've taken the family both the Universal parks during the busiest days of the year and still been able to ride all the rides and not wait in line all day. Universal's allowance of their on-site hotel room keys to act as a "front of the line" pass is invaluable. So when there is a 2 hr wait for that one ride the kids want, we don't wait in that line. We go to the Express Pass entrance and wait a couple of minutes at most.
What this means is that if we go to Orlando during a "slow" time, we may visit the Disney parks. But if we go during a busy time (like Christmas) we go to Universal and stay onsite. Now we can go to Orlando and visit the parks even during the most crowded times of the year. ^
