Yes, I really should have figured all these out in advance. I flew with the baby domestically with different carriers before and have never ever been asked to pay for anything. Also Continental Customer First policy states that it is "free of charge"...

I think the agent was bullying me...since he kept saying that this could not go wrong, the taxes is too complicated for me to understand, taxes to certain destinations could be really high...vs. I did remember the CO agent at EWR mentioned something like 10%...

I will try some local consumer protection agencies...
