On recent flights I have been telling myself that having a stranger sit so close to me on a packed flight is the worst part of flying. The width of a seat and how close everyone sits next to each other (sideways) is actually a bigger problem than seat pitch. Unless the person in front of me reclines, I can handle the limited seat pitch, but sitting so close to stranger in my personal space is driving me nuts.

For the same cost would you rather have economy class seat pitch but the whole row to your self---- or business class with a passenger (stranger) sitting next to you?
