A number of years ago I decided to take the plunge (so to speak) and drive up to Mauna Kea to see the snow.
Oh it was a wonderful and memorable trip and not just for the snow. Which is why I titled the trip:
"14,000 feet up without a plane, 14,000 feet down without brakes"

I was in a truck with 4-wheel drive by the way. The photos do NOT show the Saddle Road trip, but I do have Saddle Road photos lying around somewhere.
