Flew through yesterday - PVD-DTW DTW-BNA. It's gorgeous. The tram is fun to take. Not all food options were open yet, though, so long lines at every food location. Also the A&W I went to couldn't do burgers because gas lines hadn't been put in yet.
On the operational side - my evening DTW-BNA flight was delayed 50 minutes - 1st for minor mechanical (which you probably can't blame new terminal for) and second to wait on weight computations. I was upgraded in First and I was surprised at the language one of my fellow passengers was using for what I would still consider a minor delay.
Boarding was also really slow - agents figuring out how to handle the boarding area, I guess.
On the other hand, I did check my rollaboard this time and it didn't make it to Nashville - along with the luggage of about 15 other people on the plane. So I would try not to check luggage just yet if flying through the new DTW.
Believe it or not, in almost 3 years of pretty intense domestic travel - first time my luggage hasn't shown up when I checked it.
I would say that once it gets past its birth and growing pains I'm really going to like it.
[ADDENDUM: Luggage showed up late next morning and delivered to my hotel - so ok now - I don't think I will check it on my way back, though]
