Incidentally, on that note, I'm about to leave the island indefinitely, but before I do, I'm planning to (co?-)lead a couple of the summit tours from the visitor station, on January 14th and 21st, 2007. Anyone who wants to go should read that link, since there are several requirements for safety - bring your own 4WD, nobody under 16, nobody pregnant, nobody who's done SCUBA in the last 24 hours, and you shouldn't go if you have health issues that could be problematic at high altitude.
