This is basically a scheduling reason, but the details are as follows.

I'm heading down to New Orleans, Louisiana, for Mardi Gras in February. And, I only wish to take one day off from work and must work the Friday before. The last non-stop of the day leaves earlier than I'd like. The next non-stop on Saturday morning will get me to MSY too late to catch the morning parades. However, if I take the red-eye from LAX to IAD and catch the first flight from IAD to MSY on Saturday morning, I'll be golden! ^

Unfortunately, though, I couldn't get the bomb to schedule that for me as a round trip; I had to do it using the multi-city search. I'm hoping that this'll still count for the 3 r/t mileage deal! It should, shouldn't it?

Oh, and for anyone else contemplating going to Mardi Gras this year, consider that Lundi Gras coincides with Presidents' Day! One more "free" day to spend in New Orleans!
