My reasons are pretty much:

Schedule
More time on UA Metal (MM qualification).

Of course, pretty much the only route I do this is DEN-FRA (DEN-ORD-FRA or DEN-IAD-FRA) and it's both schedule and avoidance of LH Y that drives it.

From DEN there aren't many domestic trips that I would connect as opposed to taking a non-stop.
