We too have had great stays there on PL and points. Once, in 2004 on a points stay, we scored an upgrade to a two-level suite, the levels being connected by a spiral staircase! Other than the townhouse at the PH Carmel, I can't recall another split-level arrangement at a hotel.

Ask for a harbour or mountain view. Spectacular. A minor beef: as of two years ago, some windows had a film that rather marred the view.

The smallish RC lounge, and spacious outdoor swimming pool are great.

Amazingly this is still a Cat 2 under the new award chart, less than the HR Calgary of which I have no experience.
