I have 1 full Sunday free and 2 mornings. Is it worth spending Sunday on a trip to Mysuru?

I checked the train schedule (Indian rail requires WAY too much info, and an Indian address, just to check a timetable!), but there seems to be just 1 train a day each way, with just an hour in between so that's not really an option. It is really cheap, though!

So would it be worth trying to get the hotel (Park) to find me a day tour including Mysuru, or to book a driver for the day? Will it be an issue that it is a Sunday? I arrive late Saturday night, so it would be tough to arrange anything myself.

Any other suggestions for things to see in BLR? Most posts here make it sound pretty weak for site-seeing, good for food (^ ), and good for night-life (not my thing). I tried to email Bangalorewalks for the Sunday, but they haven't replied after 3 weeks.
