All the negativity and disenchantment that's been dispensed in this forum, let me note something positive. I was playing with the idea to take my wife and me on a two week vacation to SIN and HKG. I also wanted to travel via Europe instead the Pacific and experience something different. I made my plans for November 07. I called int'l reservations and explained what I wanted. It was important to us to fly in C and I wanted to connect in Paris (CDG) to Sin. I got a very knowledgable agent and 14 minutes later my SA and I were in confirmed C from PHL-CDG-BKK-SIN (6 day stay in SIN) then SIN-HKG (3 day stay in HKG) then HKG-BKK-CDG (six hour layover - enough to make it to the Eiffel Tower and back) then PHL. We will be on US across the Atlantic, TG to BKK and SQ to HKG. The agent was even offering to route us across the Pacific in C so we could save 15K miles (90K instead of 105K) each. I declined since we might hook-up with a friend at CDG. Great service and all this in 14 minutes!!!
I know I probably was very lucky since I did not even have to adjust my schedule for availability. I did do a little research prior though (ANA availability tool, US website).
Regardless, if US keeps my SE Asia C awards available and keeps them this simple, I will be sticking around for a while.^
