This "service" seems to be provided over the airlines' strong objections. At least two airline CEOs have testified before Congress that they regard the forced carriage of FAMs --particularly in premium cabins -- to be the economic equivalent of theft. I suppose you can call it a service if you like, but then it's also a "service" when a holdup man takes your wallet at the point of a gun.
