I am used to a world where the terrorists who commit an atrocious act immediately claim credit. Yet that hasn't happened with the Bangkok bombs. No one to my knowledge has claimed credit. What we have is a government that has rushed to blame officials attached to the previous government, yet has offered no proof. Nor have they even hinted that proof exists. The government's rush to judgment despite the lack of proof is rather extraordinary and, for me, calls into question their competency and trust-worthiness. It seems to me that their primary motivation is other than solving the crime. Discrediting the previous government seems to be their main objective. I wonder how far they'd go with that...they've made me quite suspicious.
I was there as well and hadn't heard about this either until I got home. It was in the Tuesday edition of the Straits Times on Page 5. They had 4 full pages about the incident.
