Nervous about coming to Bangkok?
I'd be far more nervous about traveling on the roads in America where, last year, 44,000 people were killed.
Cheetah_SA has his priorities right: wondering about his upgrade.
Bangkok today looks perfectly normal.
It's Thursday afternoon, just after lunch.
I'm looking out the window at one of the major streets.
Street traffic is the usual -- which means jammed up.
Taxis are coming and going, or trying to.
People are walking back to their offices after eating.
Some women are stopping to look over the trinkets and cheap bras being offered by street vendors.
I can also see people walking into, and out from, the subway station down the road.
I can not be certain from this high up, but I expect many are chatting and smiling together as Thais usually do.
Nobody appears to be cowering in fear.
Weather is magnificent: dry, a light haze to cut the sun, and a steady breeze to blow away some of the pollution.
I expect
Cheetah_SA will be in for a pleasant visit.
Of course, I expected New Year's Eve to be pleasant, too, but for some people, it certainly wasn't.
