If you want yards of legroom, you need an exit row. But they tend to be noisy and busy. Personally, I'll take 35K any time - I love it.
Exit rows are not worth it IMHO for the abovementioned reasons. The only problem with the front rows of Y is you get the smell from the galley which isn't to pleasant.
