I recently joined CP Meetings Rewards, but would be more interested to see a similar program within the IC chain itself. Previously, I have only used HI’s within the ICHG for meetings, and based upon the inconsistency of that chain, quickly moved to Hiltons without giving CP or IC a chance.

My ultimate goal is to concentrate on CP’s and IC’s, provided good service is rendered, in order to bag more points and further safeguard my RA status.

On that note, njfan07 recently received RA status with just 35 nights, only 3 of which were in IC’s, based upon money spent in the CP / HI chains for meetings. (see link below)

I spoke at length today with a catering / meeting manager at one of the IC properties, and was amazed to hear that the booking prices for a conference room was comparable to what I have been booking already at Hiltons, and can only imagine that booking a conference or meeting in an IC or CP (where there was significant revenue to be gained via conference / guest rooms booked) would greatly enhance the RA / Platinum experience…

Any thoughts, experiences, etc?

I booked multiple meetings at the CP in Irvine, CA. Highly recommend them. Very good hotel, excellent meeting staff, lunch in the restaurant is very good, highly competitive hotel room rates if you book a decent number of overnight rooms. Other hotels were HIs in various cities.

The coming year I'll see if I can negotiate some good rates at ICs. Normally I reserve anywhere from 15 - 20 rooms for either one or two nights.
