I dont know your guidebook but in general the places come and go very fast in Beirut.
For restaurants ( i think you want to try lebanese food i went to these and i think they are quite unique places)
Abdel wahab al inglesi - traditional classy lebanese , expensive , in ashrafieh
Cafe blanc - trendy lebanese food in abc mall ashrafieh , or try Leila a new more traditional
Mandarin - lebanese mezze on conveyer, in Beirut-Verdun
Al balad - dowtown, good ,popular, reasonable priced
for lebanese fastfood try the "zaatar w zeit" chains, budget prices, several branches all over Beirut, next one to your place is the one at Sodeco square,
pubs.. now its getting complicated.. are you a f/f, m/f or m/m couple and whats your age ?
you want the expats hangouts or the ones where you can watch lebanese night-life at its best?
