And you can not count on the "scheduled" arrival time in DEN as an absolute either. (Especially if the train is "scheduuled" to arrive about 8 PM, and your flight from DIA is at 11 PM.

I just read a column in R&R magazine where the CZ "a few years ago" was scheduled to arrive DEN about 8 PM - but did not arrive (due to UP conditions) until
7 AM the following morning!
But YMMV (thankfully).
Regarding scheduled vs. actual train operation times, I have observed over the last week or so that the CZ has not been anywhere close to being on time. Specifically, westbound Omaha-Denver, the scheduled arrival of #5 is 7:15am. But the last week has shown the #5 getting into Denver anywhere from 11:00am to as late as 3:00pm.
I *was* moving forward with taking the #5 to Denver next week for a work trip, but if I am going to be as significantly delayed as the 3pm arrivals have shown, that creates a problem.
Are the Christmas/New Years snow storms still creating that much of a problem for trains running through Nebraska/Colorado? Anyone with insight as to whether things will improve next week (with allowance for unknown new storms of course)?
Thanks
Jim
