I don't think many airlines use their aircrafts to fly close to the maximum range. 330-200 may not be a good choice because of the operating cost per seat. Even the 330-300 can fly MSP-AMS and any 340 can fly MSP-Japan. If they choose Boeing, I don't see a good solution for MSP-Japan.
