That's quite a common feature in many of the hotels I've stayed in in Asia. I like the set-ups that allow me to control it from bedside, so that if I only remember it after I get into bed I can just reach over and push a button!
I do agree that the cardstock door tags fly off too easily. When I used to stay at the Renaissance Saigon four years ago, they had hard plastic tags instead, so much better!
