Talking of GNER, after a lifetime of travelling on West Coast, Cross Country and local services, I finally got to try GNER first class over the past weekend. It outclasses Virgin in every respect. That the government is re-tendering this franchise while continuing to chuck millions at Virgin is a national scandal.
