I'm considering between these brands for trip to Australia later this year. Having to look beyond the usual US chains in order to get family of 2A and 2C in a single room. It's hard to say, because it's going to vary by property, both in terms of stars and amenities. Mercure hotels can be 2*, 3*, or 4*. I think Novotel can be 3* or 4*, but I'm not positive about that. Novotel seems to allow two children for free more than Mercure, though.
