I just went through this process in December: looked at a lot of options to refinance an existing mortgage. The options that included miles were brutally expensive - do you really want to be buying FF at a very expensive rate and then financing them across 10, 15, or even 30 years? I'm always amazed at the things banks try to bundle into mortgage deals. One of them even wanted me to finance some stupid autographed football into my deal. I would have had to pay $10,000 or more for that ball - which is worth about $49 on eBay.

I ended up going with a local credit union that doesn't attempt to bundle anything else into the loan.
