Here's where I got confused by the original post...
When I read this, I thought the OP just meant that the
prices of the enhancements were offensive. For example, I find it offensive that the Westin Las Vegas promotes packages that include a rental car for $325 on the same day that a room is available without a car for $175. (I'll admit, though, that
sometimes their packages are a reasonable deal -- relative to a high base rate.)
Similarly, I thought that the cost of the old "all-inclusive" rates at Our Lucaya were offensive. It doesn't look as if they offer them on the website anymore. (However, they are one of several Starwoods that offer a "
procreation vacation" that might offend some people.

)
Also offensive:
$4.95 for a bottle of water at the Aladdin.
$14.95 for HSIA in NYC.
$2.00+ for a local phone call.
Fees for receiving packages.
Massage therapist trying to upsell a tiny bottle of massage oil for $45 right after a relaxing massage. (I think that this was on a cruise, not Starwood.)
Current typical NYC hotel prices.
The no-Starpoints rule for stays > 30 days.
Most mandatory resort fees.
