Of course, everyone has their own SkyMiles account. But the "head of the household" so to speak controls more than his own flying activity and revenue!
No I dont believe I missed your point at all. Bottom line, when DL reviews for these kind of things, they look at revenue (or whatever their critieria) by sky miles number, if you want to get "credit" for getting other people to fly DL (or any airline) put their tickets on your SM number and it will count in the analysis. Simple solution!
