I'll dispute that enforcement is not high priority. I've seen lots of ticketed cars on my several post-K visits to the city (and even gotten one myself).
That said, most N.O. parking tickets are only $20 if paid promptly. Not sure what a night of valet parking is at the Sheraton these days, but I'd guess over $30? Even if you do get ticketed, that freight zone is a money-saver, there's no 45 minute wait for a badly managed valet service, and your money is going directly to the city which needs it so badly. You can pay online with your credit card and get miles, too.
Just don't get towed.
