I switched to a different computer (also a Mac) and was able to complete the 3 questions and get in.
I'm sure you are right about the cookies and cache, as well as CS hearing Mac and not knowing what to do.
I still have problem with their choice of questions. It sounds like they were created by someone with a lot of experience at MySpace profiles.

Try going to Preferences:Privacy, click on "Show Cookies" , find cookies with the words "citi" or "accounts" and remove them. Also click on "Exceptions" and be sure none of the citicard or accountsonline sites are being blocked.
When the say they don't support Mac it often means they just don't understand it and can't answer your questions
