It never failed me. The couple of times the fare did go up, I called Web services and they were able to reinstate the fare without a question asked. I never lost my fare yet when I purchased it within the required time. YMMV.
So I believe there is nothing contridactory about the guarantee, perhaps an occasional blip with
www.aa.com, but that's about it.
Yeah that's what I said a few posts above, must just be a glitch.
