Why do you want to do business in Thailand anyway?

Maybe I should have used the term business owners to indicate I would be in social settings with those in business and children of political figures..no .... not the royalty! I will not be conducting business as such.

Thanks for all of the practical suggestions. I will try to relax and enjoy my stay while keeping in mind what was mentioned. I did try to search this forum before asking the question but obviously I did not put in the right search term.
