There is nothing unfair, unjust, wicked or sinful . When a flight goes from A - B - C, there can often be different availability for A-C vs A-B connecting to B-C. See it all the time with paid tickets on UK-Oz. Sometimes LHR-SYD can be available in a booking class whilst LHR-SIN or SIN-SYD does not have it.
