Had one night stays at these properties in Kahalui

I actually liked the fact that I was near Wailuku with all it's very very cheap eateries.

Maui Seaside Hotel is a complete dump. No way it was worth the $90 per night I spent. astro turf carpet, A/C that did not work, way too many funky smells, only redeeming quality was the number of lounge chairs around the pool.

Maui Beach hotel was for sure a step up. Much nicer and it has real carpet.
Also looks like it was kept up much nicer than the seaside hotel.
Only two downsides to this cheap hotel (paid $100 per night), no king beds and the pool is not out on a lawn overlooking the harbor, it sits on top of a 2nd floor and overlooks the city, plus is right next to the open air restaurant.

In no way would I stay here for my whole vacation but for a one night cheap stay, I'd pick the Maui Beach Hotel again.
