I flew from BWI on Sunday, 9/16 on an itinerary that took me thru DTW, MDW, MSP, DEN and back over the course of about nine days. The long line at BWI that I saw was caused by the decision of local airport authorities to have only one person checking for IDs and boarding passes as we approached the security check. This idiocy was duplicated no where else on my trip, and I didn't even observe it at BWI upon my return yesterday. The only other long line that I saw was 6 people deep at DEN.


Other delays that I saw were caused by hand searches of carry-on luggage.

You should be fine getting to LGA by 5 am for a 6 am flight if you check your bags.
